We all know how important a breakfast is in our daily diet. It literally means to break the fast since we are essentially fasting while we sleep each night. Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day because it can give you the energy and focus you need to get through the day. It is important to eat the right mix of healthy nutritious foods to start your day off right. Of all the paleolithic diet meal plans, breakfast is never a meal to be missed!

The Paleo diet also places alot of emphasis upon breakfast. Using acceptable paleo foods here is a list of what you could use to craft a delicious and healthy breakfast:

  1. Eggs (important staple!)
  2. Meat (smaller amounts)
  3. Vegetable salads
  4. Fresh fruits
  5. Some nuts (avoid cashews and peanuts)

Mix any of these items to easily create a delicious paleo friendly breakfast. Below are two tasty ideas-

Fruit and Egg smoothies:

This recipe has tons of energy and juices for your body plus it’s quick and easy to make and eat on the go. With many different fruits to pick from you’ll never get bored of this recipe!

Simply put a fresh fruit or some berries into a blender, add very little water and a raw whipped egg to the mix. Try to use organic eggs if you can and you might even consider experimenting with duck or ostrich eggs. In place of sugar we will use a natural sweetener like honey to help boost the delicious flavor. Process the mixture and once it is smooth pour it into a glass. Sprinkle some more fresh fruit or berries on top and drink it down. Add nuts to the mixture to thicken up the smoothie.

Veggie egg pancakes:

Yes there is a way to eat pancakes on the paleo diet so don’t you worry about you were going to do without. Here’s how to make the perfect replacement.

Find any pancake recipe and keep the eggs while replacing the flour with coconut flour or almond flour. Use sea salt in place of salt and for additional flavoring you can use cinnamon or pure natural vanilla. A great milk substitute is almond or coconut milk.

The healthiest option

Simply making any number of egg dishes like omlets or scrambled eggs with a side of bacon, a salad and a fruit are the best choice for a full and balanced paleo meal. White potatoes aren’t recommended on the paleo diet so hash browns are out, unless of course you wanted to try sweet potato hash browns. Can you say mmm mmm yummy? Enjoy a healthy paleo diet breakfast!
